How many of you out there have struggled with making it to a yoga class on time? Or with being able to afford paying for classes, whether at a fitness center or at a yoga studio?

Many people have resorted to practicing yoga to a podcast, as many are free and allows for the opportunity to practice whenever you’ve got the time. I know that personally, sometimes I only have time to do my yoga at 4:30 a.m., or at some other weird time when no facility in their right mind would be offering a class. For the past couple of years, I’ve been searching through the troves of podcasts available out there, and have come across some I love and some I don’t. Some are videos, where you can see the routine being performed by people. But it seems to me that most are audio only.

My curiosity got the better of me today, as I started wondering how many of you out there practice yoga to a podcast. In planning for potentially doing podcasts myself in the near future, I wanted to ask for you to let me know your likes and dislikes, so that as I start to flesh this out, I will have a better idea of what people are looking for. So here are my questions:

  • Would you practice to a podcast that was audio only?
  • Would you like the routine to have music built-in, or would you prefer just hearing the instructor’s voice?
  • Would you like having a variety of routine lengths to choose from (i.e., 30 minutes, 60 minutes, etc.)?
  • What’s the longest amount of time you’d want for a podcast routine (i.e., 90 minutes)?
  • Would you like having a variety of styles to choose from (i.e., Power Yoga, Yin Yoga, etc.)?
  • Would you be willing to pay for a podcast? If so, what would you expect out of what you would be paying for?

Post your comments here, if you wish. Or you can e-mail me privately at scyogagirl@gmail.com if you’d prefer a more personal setting to communicate with me. Thanks in advance for your input!

Namaste,

Melanie
